Message with using a squarish opening as oppossed to a round opening. We aquired used the exact same design as the "J spec" style ducts to make our molds for production. By using the alotted space inherent to the fog light duct opening, the design was specificly made to:

1. increase the velocity of the air flow
2. maximize the amount air flow

this design uses half the size of the fog light duct as a venturi (a design that goes from a larger opening and slowly transistions to a smaller one) to increase the velocity of air and the other part for the opening for air flow.

In the space alotted for the opening, you can see that a square shape maximizes the volume area for air to flow. The grey shaded areas show the gained surface area of the openning. Any larger opening using a round oriface would over run the actual size of the duct. (see sketch below)
